This magazine kit features the NicTaylor Hi-Viz follower designed to lock the slide back on last shot fired. This makes your magazines function just like factory except with more rounds! This magazine modification works on the Colt 1911 A1 Gold Cup, Government and Rail Gun 22LR pistols made by Walther. With this magazine upgrade you will get additional rounds in the factory 10 and 12 round clips. These modifications are not permanent and easily installs in minutes. With this upgrade you can get 15 rounds in the magazine. Simply remove the factory follower, metal pin in the follower, spring and spring retainer. Insert the NicTaylor follower, new spring and the included spring retainer and slide on the factory basebad or the shock bottle standard capacity aluminum basepad sold HERE. This magazine upgrade is designed to lock the slide open on last shot fired. If you do not want the gun to lock open on an empty mag, see our kits with the Shockbottle offered HERE.

Please note you will not use the metal pin found in the factory follower. Most people use this pin to aid in loading the magazine. If you have the need for a load assist tool we have two options for you. The first uses the hole in the blue follower to push the follower down. You can find it HERE. The second works more like a traditional magazine loader and can be found HERE

Installation Instructions RESTRICTIONS

1. Remove factory basepad by depressing the spring retainer tab located at the bottom of the basepad. While depressing the spring retainer, slide off the factory basepad. CAUTION! This magazine spring is under tension and can "spring out" of the magazine tube along with other magazine parts.

2. Remove the factory spring. Remove the load assist button on the side of the factory follower. At this point you will be able to remove the factory follower.

3. Insert the HiViz follower and the included magazine spring.

4. Compress the magazine spring and spring retainer into the magazine tube and slide on the Basepad. Take note of the orientation of the spring retainer so that the side with the single button lines up with the hole in the basepad. The spring retainer will settle itself into the hole in the Basepad and lock it into place.

I picked up two of the 15 rd mags for my colt 1911 I’ve put about 100 rounds through each and have worked great.( I did have an issue with getting the 15th round in but I flipped the spring and it worked perfectly.)  I would recommend getting this if you are in the market for more ammo capacity.

Have an issue with one of the mags after the modification slide locks back with one round still in the mag. The other one that I did the same mod too works just fine.
