The Standard basepad is constructed of anodized aluminum for added durability over the factory plastic basepad. The added length makes seating the magazine easier and is a must for pistols with magwells. Some minor fitting to the tabs on your magazine tube may be required due to variations in magazines. Please note that the Standard Basepad gives no added capacity over the Colt factory 10 and 12 round magazines.

RESTRICTIONS

Please note that due to varying tolerances in the sheet metal that comprises the magazine, there may be the need to remove a small amount of metal from the tabs of the magazine tube. These tabs are located at the bottom of the magazine tube and are the part that slides into the basepad. Only remove a small amount at a time until your basepad can be slipped on and off to your liking.

1. Remove factory basepad by depressing the spring retainer tab located at the bottom of the basepad. While depressing the spring retainer, slide off the factory basepad. CAUTION! This magazine spring is under tension and can "spring out" of the magazine tube along with other magazine parts.

2. Compress the magazine spring and spring retainer into the magazine tube and slide on the Standard Basepad. The spring retainer will settle itself into the hole in the Standard Basepad and lock it into place.
