TJ's 1911 / 2011 Series 80 to 70 Conversion Shim - Frame Slot Filler
series 80 | series 70 | 80 spacer | series 80 to 70 conversion | 45 ACP | tj's custom | 1911 Series 80 Conversion Shim from TJ's Custom | 1911 trigger job

TJ's 1911 Series '80 to Series '70 Conversion Shims (Frame Slot Filler©) replace the gap used by the "Colt Series '80 Firing Pin Block Actuating Levers" when removed by gunsmiths for crisper trigger pulls. It is necessary to fill this frame gap so the sear will not wander over and lock up the sear / trigger mechanism. Shim/slot filler fits in the frame cutout, permitting Series 70 slides and components to be fitted to Series 80 frames. No alteration, drop-in fit. Width of spacer is 0.057"

These spacers can be used on any 1911 / 2011 (wide body 1911 style firearm) if equipped with series 80 parts.

5 of 5 Shipping cost ridiculous! December 19, 2025
Reviewer: Thomas Clark from San Antonio, TX United States
This is the 2nd one of these frame slot fillers I have purchased. In its packaging, it weights 7 grams, less than 1/4 of an ounce. It could be mailed in a business envelope with a single stamp.  Instead, I'm charged $8.50 to ship this tiny item 92 miles to San Antonio.  And the item only costs $8.99.  I feel totally screwed every time.  Do better!  Ship these tiny items in a business envelope for 55 cents! Stop screwing your customers on shipping!
