5 of 5 Necessary .22 conversion item. May 15, 2020

I have a CMMG AR-15 .22 conversion for a pistol configuration AR platform.  I design recoil systems for my 1911 hand guns, which gives me a working understanding on "blow-back" and gas operated firearms.  The stock hammer spring on an AR-15 fire control kit, is a little too stiff for the blow-back system of a .22 conversion to cycle and you wind up with failure to eject and ascending rounds to jam.  In other words the .22 blow-back doesn't have enough power to cycle because the hammer spring eats up it's inertia.  Simple physics;  your reduced power hammer spring lowers the energy needed to cock the hammer and cycle the weapon with a clean ejection and feed.  I went from a jam every other round to emptying a full mag as fast as I could pull the trigger.  The spring does not adversely affect cycling when you switch back to .223.  Good product.
