Making sure you have the correct weight recoil spring in your gun is going to make a difference on how it handles when performing double taps. Too heavy a spring will cause the muzzle to "nose dive" and take longer for you to recover the sight picture before you can shoot again. Too light a spring can cause damage to your pistol. Each kit comes with 5 color coded recoil springs of varying weight to help you tweak the recoil for the best performance of your pistol. The different colors help distinguish the weights of each spring for easy identification. For use in Colt 1911, 1911A1, 1991, Government, MKIV, Gold Cup model, 2011 pistols and if you have the correct guide rod, the Sig Sauer P320.

I recently ran across Nick's somewhat dated hi-speed video explaining how to think about and troubleshoot spring issues in a 1911.  I also took advantage of a great sale Taylor Tactical was having selling the low, med, high kits.  This along with some helpful commentary with Nick or his team enabled me to confidently equip myself to go to the range and work through my issue trial and error until I pinpointed the correct spring for my gun / ammo combination.   Thank you Nick for dispensing free but valuable advice (which is getting more and more rare as time wears on)!
